Last Sunday, one of the most anticipated concerts of this year’s Vertigo Summer Jazz Festival took place in the space of the Centennial Hall. The Vertigo Band appeared on stage – a band that has been delighting audiences for years with its fresh take on jazz – headed by the charismatic Natalia Szczypula. The artists captivated the gathered audience with their energy, sensitivity and unrelenting passion for music.
The real surprise of the evening was the performance of Jagoda Olejarz – the winner of a singing contest we organized together with the team on our social media channels. Her appearance on stage was not only a special moment, but also a symbolic tribute to young talents who power the Polish music scene with incredible strength and determination.
The concert at the Centennial Hall was further proof of the enormous scale of our festival. Wroclaw citizens and tourists gathered together to celebrate music in jazz arrangements, which, as we show every year, can unite. The band once again surprised the audience – this time performing the song “Toxic” from Britney Spears’ repertoire in a completely new, jazz version. It is moments like these that show how versatile and alive jazz is – a genre that is constantly evolving and still able to surprise. As Vertigo, we are extremely proud and grateful that it is on our stage that you can hear such talented artists. Their passion and commitment are the heart of this festival.
Although the festival is inexorably drawing to a close, the last concerts of this year’s edition are still to come. We cordially invite you to check out the full schedule of events at: www.vertigojazz.pl/festiwal. May the music accompany us until the very end of this special summer.
