Halfway point of Vertigo Summer Jazz Festival

The first half of the Vertigo Summer Jazz Festival – one of the most anticipated music events in Wroclaw’s summer calendar – is already behind us. Since the beginning of July, the city has been filled with the sounds of jazz, soul and swing, with concerts taking place in various, often surprising locations: from Vertigo through stylish hotels to unusual urban spaces such as streetcars and beaches.

The past part of the festival has shown the great potential of combining high quality music with original form and scenery. Audiences have been able to attend performances by esteemed artists of the jazz scene, including Henryk Miśkiewicz, Rafał Karasiewicz, and all this in intimate, often almost intimate conditions, conducive to contact with the music and the performers.

Although a dozen extraordinary concerts are behind us, the real musical excitement still lies ahead. The second half of July promises to be just as intense and diverse. The schedule includes concerts at the PURO Hotel, on the Pergola, at the Pitlane Summer Bar area, as well as performances aboard a ship sailing on the Oder River. It is in these spaces that we will hear artists such as Reske Urban Stories, Martyna Sabak Quintet, Vertigo Band and Stanislaw Soyka – each of these proposals is a separate story and a different form of contact with music.

The festival’s program continues to evolve, and we as organizers are committed to openness. Many of the events are free of charge, which allows a wide audience to encounter jazz in its modern, diverse form. It is also an opportunity to discover new places on the cultural map of Wroclaw and to build relationships – with the city, the music and other listeners.

The festival will last until the end of July, and a detailed schedule can be found at www.vertigojazz.pl/festival. There you can find not only the exact dates and locations of the concerts, but also information about the artists and tickets.

Vertigo Summer Jazz Festival proves once again that jazz can be lively, accessible and above all -emotional. Wroclaw sounds with jazz in the summer, and that’s not the end of the story.

See you at the concerts!
