MUSIC HISTORY PART. 8 CLUB 27

Music History. American Rock. Summer of Love at Club 27.

What was the specificity of the summer of love in 1967 and why are we still talking about it after more than half a century?
How did Jimi Hendrix manage to get a discharge from the military, already in the service?
Is it true that Janis Joplin was named “Ugliest Guy of the Year” in 1963?
How is it possible that Jim Morrison, going to a concert, was late for two planes? How is it even possible to be late for two planes? XD
Did Jim Morisson actually expose himself in public?

You will find the answers to these and many other questions at Marcin Szuster’s lecture “History of Music. American Rock. Summer of Love at Club 27” in the series “History of Music”.

Given in an accessible format, the lectures are a collection of stories about the heroes of each musical era over the past 100 years. Supplemented with film footage and vinyl record tracks, they create a one-of-a-kind journey through the history of 20th century music.
“History of Music” is a series of 16 lectures that will be held regularly, every two weeks, at Wrocław’s Sztuka Na Miejsce at 4 Laziarska Street.
The program includes, in sequence: “Rhythm and blues”, “Soul”, “Funk & Disco”, “Hip-hop”, “Rock and roll”, “British Invasion”, “American Rock”, “Punk Rock”, “Rapcore, Grunge & Nu-Metal”, “Pop”, “Electronic Music”, “Detroit Techno & Chicago House”, “Hip-hop pt.2: West Coast”, “Music Producers”, “Polish Music”.
