April in Wroclaw will resound with music and the finest in a wide spectrum of styles of contemporary jazz. Strefa Kultury Wrocław and the Artistic Council invite you to the 61st edition of the Jazz on the Oder Festival.
This year’s program will feature artists considered icons of the genre (Joe Lovano) and international projects (including the premiere of Piotr Wojtasik’s “Inscape” album, recorded at the legendary Van Gelder Studio in New Jersey with leading New York musicians, a concert by Anna Maria Jopek with the Japanese trio Makoto Ozone, the Janis Sigel/Yaron Gershovsky quintet from the famous Manhattan Transfer, and Piotr Wyleżoł’s quartet).
During the five festival days, there will be a chance to see both those who, with their mastery, have been confirming the highest position in the jazz world for years (Joe Sanders feat. Seamus Blake, Daniel Rotem Quartet featuring Darek Oleszkiewicz), and outstanding virtuoso artists, some of whom you may not have heard of yet (guitarist Lage Lund, tubist Daniel Herskedal).
Tickets and passes available at jazznadodra.pl
The author of the festival poster is Wroclaw-based artist Lech Twardowski.
