Music History. Rapcore, Grunge & Nu-metal. From jams in dingy basements to $200 flannel shirts.
What were the musicians of Rage Against The Machine so angry about? What is the eponymous machine?
Who was Andy Wood, called “the only comedian in grunge”? Why was he so important in the history of the Seattle music scene?
What did the first live performance of Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” sound like?
Why did people buy $200 shirts styled “grungy”?
Why is Korn’s Jonathan Davis one of today’s most versatile vocalists?
Then there’s Linkin Park. Why do we miss so much the band that so much heckling was poured on when it debuted?
You’ll find answers to these and many other questions at Marcin Szuster’s lecture “Grunge, Rapcore & Nu-metal. From jams in Seattle’s dingy basements to $200 flannel shirts.” From the “History of Music” series.
